Whistling s

Hi,

I am a new grad SLP currently working in the school system. I have a student, 6 years old, who produces s with a sharp whistle. She was a thumb sucker and has an open bite.

I believe it is due to her malocclusion but was wondering if you had any tips for getting her to achieve a correct production. I am an in rural area and have no other SLPs near by to ask for advice.
