My nine year old daughter has always had a bit of a lisp. I never even thought to do speech therapy. Her 4th grade teacher recently suggested I have the school speech pathologist observe her.
My first instinct was to go all mama bear and insist that nothing is wrong with my kid. But obviously her teacher sees a lot of kids on a regular basis and is seeing a cause for concern.
So... it's time to get realistic! My question is this: Where do I start? Is the school pathologist my best bet? Should I take my daughter to a private speech pathologist? Will she be embarrassed/picked on if she is treated at school? She is nine... have I waited too long to get her help?
What’s the Pic Articulation is a revolutionary app for speech therapy!
