A 10 year old boy diagnosed with CAPD scored within expected limits on the Expressive Language Test and listening comprehension Test. The entire CASL was administered. He scored at 10% on synonyms, 35% antonyms and 14% sentence completion yielding 12% lexical semantic index.

Why would measures of word knowledge on the CASL be that much lower than the ELT?
