I am an SLP and have a 5th grader who was diagnosed as apraxic when he was younger. He is currently 100% intelligible, but has vowel neutralizing of short a, a choppy speech pattern, and some stress issues.
He mumbles a bit. We have worked tirelessly on this through poetry, playscripts, etc. However, I feel that he will always have an unusual speech pattern.
Advice on continuing therapy? Motivation is an issue too.
