Missing nouns

Is there a speech therapy for a person who very often can not find the 'noun' in their sentence?
Eg pass me the thing I have to take it over there.
Or While you were out he was here dropping that off but he had to leave.

I always knew something was missing in his communication but could generally fill in the blanks.
But it suddenly dawned on me - it's the nouns that are always missing!

Is this a condition? Can it be remedied?
