Luke

Luke is a 3 year old boy with a speech sound disorder. He is receiving therapy for frontal sounds of /b/, /m/, /p/ and /w/. As a classroom teacher what are two ways you can work with Luke on these sounds.

Gather pictures containing in the initial position of words (i.e. ball, wall, mouse)all the sounds he is working on and spend 5 minutes per day with the student having him practice saying these. Model the words for him if he misarticulates any but focus only on the sounds he is targetting in therapy. For example, if he mispronounces the /s/ in mouse but corectly says the /m/, reinforce the /m/ and just model the correct production of mouse.
