Hi, I'm a First Grade teacher. We have to do our own initial speech screenings ( I KNOW, it's AWFUL!!!!) but there it is. I have a student who does great on making the basic sounds - only issue is th - but he is very difficult to understand. HE MUMBLES! He is twice gifted - ADHD and High IQ - but I can't understand him and have to ask him to repeat himself frequently. Slowing down doesn't help. His peers have trouble with understanding him as well. Any thoughts? The basic screener consisted of - here's a pix, what is this? It's an apple. What's this? a bed. Etc.
