Babbling with Mouth Closed

My 14 month old babbles with his mouth open sometimes...but much of the time with his mouth closed.

It sounds almost like a "guh" sound. It also seems that he is saying words like "book" but without opening his mouth. He has yet to say mama or dada.

Any suggestions?
