5 year old still Fronting /k/ for /t/ and /g/ for /d/

Hi, my son turned 5 years old in December and he still substitutes /k/ for /t/ and /g/ for /d/.

For instance he will say "do" instead of "go" and "tate" instead of "cake". I understand him perfectly fine and his teacher says he is doing great and that she doesn't hear anything wrong with his speech.

I am scared that if not corrected this will affect him when he starts learning to read. Do you think I should take him for an evaluation and is this something the school typically provides?
